The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has embarked on a nationwide inspection of court infrastructure in Eswatini. The exercise is aimed at assessing the state of facilities across all courts to ensure they are conducive for the effective administration of justice.

The inspection covers major courts, including the Supreme Court, High Court, Industrial Court, Commercial Court, and Magistrates’ Courts in different regions. The JSC is focusing on the condition of courtrooms, offices, digital recording systems, security installations, and accessibility for both judicial officers and the public.

According to the Commission, the inspections are part of ongoing efforts to modernize and strengthen the Judiciary, while addressing infrastructural challenges that may hinder service delivery. The initiative will also inform future plans for maintenance, upgrades, and resource allocation.

Speaking during the tour, members of the JSC emphasized that a well-maintained and secure court environment is essential in upholding the rule of law and ensuring timely, fair, and efficient dispensation of justice.

The findings of the inspections will be compiled into a report that will guide strategic interventions to improve court infrastructure nationwide.
