Privacy Notice
How the Judiciary of Eswatini website handles the personal information you submit through its forms.
Who is responsible for your information
The Judiciary of Eswatini is the controller of the personal information collected through this website. Its address and contact details are given at the end of this notice. Personal information is handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2022.
What we collect
This website collects personal information only when you choose to submit it through a form. That includes the enquiry form, the registry enquiry forms on individual court pages, and the newsletter subscription form.
From the enquiry forms we collect what those forms ask for: your name, email address, telephone number where you provide one, the organisation you give where the form asks for it, the court or department you are contacting, and the subject and content of your message.
From the newsletter form we collect your email address, the fact and time of your consent, and the internet (IP) address from which you subscribed. The IP address is recorded so that abuse of the subscription form can be identified and stopped.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used to route your message to the relevant registry or office and to reply to you. Newsletter subscriptions are used only to send you news and updates from the Judiciary. We do not sell or trade personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Where it goes
What you submit is recorded on this website’s server and is also sent by email to the registry or office responsible for answering it. Access is limited to the Judiciary staff who need it for that purpose. Your information is not shared with any other party except where the Judiciary is required or permitted by law to do so, or where it is necessary to answer your enquiry.
Case information
Do not send case-sensitive documents, evidence, or confidential material through the website forms. Formal filings must be lodged at the relevant court registry in accordance with the applicable court rules.
Retention
Enquiry records are kept for as long as is necessary to handle the enquiry and to maintain a record of correspondence. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask to be removed. Fixed retention periods for each type of record are being set as part of the Judiciary’s records-management schedule and will be published in this notice once approved.
Your rights and choices
You can ask to see the personal information held about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to have it removed where the Judiciary is not required to keep it. You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time, and doing so does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. To make any of these requests, contact the Judiciary at info@judiciary.org.sz or by telephone on +268 2404 2901.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with how your personal information has been handled, tell us first, using the contact details below, so that we can put it right. You may also complain to the national data protection authority established under the Data Protection Act, 2022.
Cookies and server logs
This website sets a single session cookie. It protects the forms against cross-site request forgery, carries one-time status messages such as “your enquiry has been received”, and limits how often a form can be submitted. It contains no personal information, it cannot be read by scripts in your browser, and it expires when you close your browser. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Like most websites, the server that hosts this site keeps technical access logs. They are used only to keep the site secure and working and to diagnose faults.
Accessibility
This site is built to be operated by keyboard, to work with screen readers, and to respect the reduced-motion setting in your operating system. If any part of it prevents you from getting the information you need, contact us and we will provide that information another way.
